Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past decade, you’re probably well aware that we are living in the digital age. Like Rule 34 of the internet, if it exists, there’s an App for that so it’s not surprising that in an age of social media and gaming, somebody was bound to create an automotive customizer application to allow you to digitally build the car of your dreams. Lucky for Mustang enthusiasts around the globe, Ford has done just that with their latest 3D Customizer application for the 2015 Ford Mustang.

Like the all-new Ford Mustang, Ford’s popular Mustang Customizer app has been redone, allowing fans of the iconic pony car to design the car of their dreams like never before. The new Customizer app allows fans to build their dream Mustang in any color imaginable using dozens of parts – including wheels, spoilers and body panels. There’s a whole bunch of different combinations you can choose from to suit your desire. Once the car is created, the Mustang Customizer app can help identify local dealers with a similar Mustang in stock.

So, how do you get this awesome Mustang Customizer App? You can get for free on either your Android or Apple device via a free download from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Yup, that’s right! You can build this all on your choice of smart phone and share it with your friends, frenemies and esteemed colleagues. A desktop version is set to follow shortly after so you can experience the app in all its 3-dimensional glory.

“When we launched the Mustang Customizer in 2009, it was massively popular,” said Andrea Zuehlk, Digital Marketing Manager. “With more than 5.4 million custom Mustangs built and more than 1.6 million app downloads since 2012, we knew we had to deliver a redesigned experience to complement the redesigned 2015 Mustang. Ford is the only company to offer a unique app like Mustang Customizer and our fans just can’t get enough of it.”

The New Mustang Customizer features a dynamic 3-D rendering with improved graphics which allows the car to be viewed from nearly every imaginable angle. The images of these customized Mustangs can also be shared across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so you can show your friends and family what your next Mustang will look like.

As if that wasn’t enough, a few other features fans have been asking for are already in the pipeline for the new tool, including a video-creation mode as well as the ability to place a custom Mustang anywhere in the world via Google Streetview. Not only will you be able to build and customize your new Mustang in the digital world, you’ll also be able to see what it looks like sitting in front of your house before pulling the trigger on a new Mustang. This feature will be debuting in the second quarter of 2015 along with a new interactive racing game that is coming later this year.
