Ford to Offer Ride & Drive Program, Displays, and More at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction
Check out the new Shelby GT350R and drive Ford’s full 2015 vehicle lineup
We’ve been to a few Barrett-Jackson auctions in our lifetime and while the main auction atmosphere and the multitude of four-wheel wonders crossing the block is usually enough to make any car person fantasize about building an eight-car garage to store more toys in, for us Blue Oval types Ford has really been stepping up its presence the last few years. For those attending the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach event in a few weeks (April 17-19, 2015) Ford has some real treats in store for you! Ford is planning to create the “ultimate enthusiast paradise” at the 13th annual event. Ford will return with its ride-and drive program, featuring every 2015 vehicle it offers—from the new F-150 to the latest performance models like the Mustang, Focus ST, Fiesta ST, and more.
“Palm Beach is one of the most exciting Barrett-Jackson auction destinations,” said Steve Ling, Ford North America car marketing manager. “The south Florida weather is the perfect backdrop for people to enjoy Ford-sponsored activities all weekend long. Enthusiasts can see exciting performance vehicles including the all-new Ford Shelby GT350R. We’ll also give them the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a vehicle from our current lineup.”
Ford has a long-standing relationship with Barrett-Jackson, offering up several one-of-one or prototype models over the years to support various charities. Recently the Ford Shelby GT350R first production unit went for a record 1 million dollars to benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) at the Scottsdale, AZ auction earlier in 2015. The display of the new GT350R at Palm Beach’s event marks the first time the GT350R will be in Florida since its introduction at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in January, 2015.
“We want to give Ford fans the ultimate automotive experience at the Palm Beach auction,” said Paul Brearey, Ford marketing manager for enthusiast events. “This is a natural choice for us to showcase our ongoing commitment to making the most exciting cars on the road. I’m confident our fans will love our 2015 vehicles and jump at the chance to experience genuine American muscle at our ride-and-drive events.”
