Ford Racing ’15 Mustangs First in the 12s, 11s, and 10s

You may have already seen the video produced by Ford Racing of the awesome track testing done on three 2015 Mustangs. The FR team wasted little time in designing and building performance parts and they went to work on a trio of Ford Mustangs with a specific goal in mind: Be the first in the 12s, 11s and 10s.

Three different engines were also used, a 2.3L EcoBoost, a naturally aspirated 5.0L Coyote V-8, and a supercharged 5.0L that boasts the new Ford Racing/Roush supercharger kit. All three Mustangs used have manual transmissions and use exclusive Ford Racing off-road development calibrations.

All three are Drag Pack equipped with the following Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP):

• IRS subframe to body bushings
• IRS differential to subframe bushings
• 3.73:1 gearset
• Exclusive high-performance half-shafts

“We always see shops proclaim they are the first and we thought it would be cool for Ford Racing to make that claim,” said Jesse Kershaw of Ford Racing. “With our bushings and half-shafts we were able to launch harder with stickier tires and get consistent results. Ford has world-class test facilities, but it’s hard to quantify and compare that testing. A quarter-mile is a measuring stick most enthusiasts can relate to.”

Roush’s ’15 Hits the Streets

Ford Mustang enthusiasts have embraced the Roush Performance brand, and now we finally get a look at the amazing 2015 Roush Mustang lineup. The ’15 Roush adds attitude with a freshly redesigned Mustang.

“Built on the Blue Oval’s sixth-generation Detroit icon, Roush performance has taken a different approach to the new Stage lineup,” states Jay Velthoven, director of marketing at Roush Performance. “The 2015 RS will be built on the Mustang’s V6 platform, the Stage 1 will feature the new turbocharged Ford 2.3L EcoBoost motor, and the Stage 2 will showcase a naturally aspirated 5.0L V-8.”

All of the ’15 Roush Mustangs receive the aggressive R7 (seventh-generation) aero-body package. The face of the R7 aero-body features a fully remodeled Roush fascia with integrated aero-pockets, a five-blade upper grille, a high-flow lower grille with driving lamps, and a front chin splitter. “We worked closely with our race team’s aero specialists as we modeled our new body components,” says Mark Trostle, Lead Designer for Roush. “It’s instantly noticed on the rear with the race-inspired lower aero-valance and a new one piece decklid spoiler. We also tied the whole aero package together with a set of side rocker canards.”

The Roush Mustangs also gets a handling boost thanks to the optional suspension setups and new Quicksilver 20-inch Roush wheels—wrapped in the Roush/Cooper (codeveloped) RS3-S ultrahigh-performance tires. Additionally, every Roush Mustangs will receive Roush embroidered floor mats and a serialized Roush dash badge. A Roush gauge cluster and leather seating upgrades are optional for both the standard seat and the upgraded Recaro seats.

All ’15 Roush “Stage” Mustangs will first be available in manual coupes, with convertible chassis and automatic transmissions to follow at a later date. They are also all 50-state legal and covered by Roush’s three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. The 2015 Roush Mustangs are expected to start showing up on dealer lots by mid October 2014.
