American Muscle and MMD Build a Supercharged '14 GT and It Could be All Yours

The folks at American Muscle have partnered with MMD to build a sleek '14 Mustang anyone would be proud to have in their stable, and best of all, you can win it! That's right, the '14 GT coupe you see here, complete with its sweet matte white vinyl wrap, killer air ride stance, and Vortech supercharged Coyote 5.0L is wearing a cool 30-large in aftermarket parts! We're talking close to 70K in hardware between the car and the parts (and not including labor), and it could be yours!

This one-of-a-kind Mustang is right at home on the road or at a show. You could rock it as a solid daily driver or keep it tucked away just for nice weekends and car shows. If you win it the choice is yours! Though admit it, it would be hard to walk past this beast and hop into some four-cylinder commuter; we know it would be for us!

All you have to do is go to and sign up for the giveaway. One person will drive this Mustang home from American Muscle's annual car show on August 16, so you better hurry. This is a car that has been featured in our sister magazine, Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, and has graced the convention hall floor at the 2013 SEMA show as well while putting down 589 hp at the tire with 480 lb-ft of torque with 10 psi of boost. Not too shabby for free, huh? Holler back if you win!

So, if you're following the old Mustang Monthly Instagram please "unfollow" that account and then find our new account at @mustangmonthlymag and follow us there, where we post daily Mustang musings for all to see, share, and comment on.

Jerry Green, Retired Ford Executive, dies at 76

We received the unfortunate news from Paul and Rhonda Svinicki of Paul's High Performance that our good friend, Jerry Green, died on May 2, 2014, after losing his battle with Parkinson's disease. Jerry had a long and vibrant history with Ford and we met him through Paul and Rhonda's racing exploits in the World Ford Challenge and NMRA events. Paul handled much of the tuning and modifications on Jerry's Mustangs and other Fords he raced. We often gave Jerry some good natured ribbing for his slow-and-steady nature until we saw him cut the Christmas tree down at the starting line at World Ford Challenge one year. He came back down the return road, timeslip in hand, with a big grin on his face that told us when he was behind the wheel, he was fast where it counted!

From late-model Mustangs, to Lighting trucks, and even a Marauder, Jerry loved to hit the race track, calling Milan, Michigan's track his home. Known as the "Mayor of Las Vegas" for his long run of SEMA show event handling (Jerry handled many shows for Ford, setting up display cars, scheduling parties, hiring food vendors, etc.), Jerry couldn't wait to hang up his dress suit and put on his race suit and get back behind the wheel of one of his Fords and go racing. Godspeed sir!

Hear DynoMax Exhaust's Mobile Sound Lab

All of us realize the exhaust note of our Mustangs can be quite subjective. One person's rumble is another person's headache. That's why DynoMax Performance Exhaust has come to the rescue of performance enthusiasts everywhere with the launch of their new Mobile Sound Lab app for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.). The app is designed to help users shopping for the right performance muffler for their ride to experience each product's unique sound type.

You can download the app through iTunes on your device and compare the exhaust tone of each of the DynoMax muffler offerings, which include the new drone-free DynoMax VT, as well as DynoMax classics like the Ultra Flo Welded, Ultra Flow SS, Super Turbo, Race Bullet and more. The classic Thrush brand is included in the app as well with its Thrush Mad Hot, Hush Thrush, Turbo, and Welded mufflers and of course its famous Thrush Glasspack mufflers.

"Performance enthusiasts ultimately want to know how the muffler is going to sound, and the DynoMax Mobile Sound lab provides a true muffler sound experience that's easily accessible on any iPad," said Chris Gauss, sales and marketing manager, performance brands, Tenneco. "Consumers love this app! It makes the decision-making process that much easier."
