March 19, Source Interlink Media, parent company for Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords magazine, launched its new supersite, Mustang-360.com.

“The Mustang 360 Network site will provide all Mustang enthusiasts a convenient location to find all of the great feature, news, and how-to articles from our four Mustang magazine brands, including MM&FF, Mustang Monthly, Modified Mustangs & Fords, and 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazines,” said Senior Product Manager Shawn Pons. “Users will be able to view content specific to their favorite Mustang generation, or specific to their favorite magazine brand. We will also be introducing a new mobile version of the website, as well as a section dedicated to Mustang events throughout the country.”

Mustang 360 Network (Mustang-360.com) will be the place to go for breaking Ford news, unique features you won’t find anywhere else.

Sounds good, right? In addition, we’ll be ramping up with many more videos and special web feature stories, news items, and exciting Ford-related topics from our editors.

First Retail Unit 2015 Ford Mustang Sells for $300,000 at Barrett-Jackson

At Barrett-Jackson Auction Company’s sale in Scottsdale, Arizona, car collector and North Texas Ford dealer Sam Pack paid $300,000 to have the first retail production unit of the all-new 2015 Mustang GT when it goes on sale this fall. This purchase helped Ford Motor Company increase its charity vehicle sales to more than $3.5 million for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the leading diabetes research organization and a Ford partner since 1983.

“We are thrilled with the result of the auction,” says John Brady, incoming JDRF chairman. “The enthusiasm and generosity of Ford Motor Company and Barrett-Jackson Auction Company is appreciated by the JDRF family and all those living with type 1 diabetes. The $300,000 raised tonight will get us closer to a world without type 1 diabetes.”

Pack will choose either a manual or automatic transmission as well as any interior and exterior color combination offered on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. Furthermore, the team involved in Mustang design and development will sign the car in appreciation of the donation to JDRF.

“The response to the all-new Mustang GT on the auction block was remarkable,” says Raj Nair, group vice president of Global Product Development at Ford Motor Company. “People were drawn to the opportunity to own this historic car, while also knowing the funds would benefit JDRF. We’re pleased to continue this collaboration.”

Also at the auction, a Shelby GT500-inspired 1956 Ford F-100 sold for an impressive $450,000, bought by Gordie Broda of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. The future Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan received a large donation through the sale of the 1956 Ford F-100 or Snakebit, as the truck is known. The Wheels of Dreams Project was created to raise funding for the new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan in Canada.


Watson Racing and Chris Holbrook Shoot for the 7s

One year ago, Watson Racing teamed with veteran Chris Holbrook to produce the quickest and fastest production car in drag racing history. Holbrook’s supercharged ’13 Cobra Jet clocked a record 8.504 seconds at 160.68 miles per hour, and later in the season, emerged victorious at the NHRA’s oldest and most prestigious event, the 59th annual U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana.

For 2014, Watson and Holbrook will embark on a mission to win even more races, while making a bold statement using a new ’14 CJ to compete in the NHRA’s Super Stock Eliminator. The Watson-built Ford will utilize a Holbrook-built supercharged 5.0L Coyote engine coupled to a five-speed manual transmission.
