Homologates Record- Setting Speed Run on Continental Tires
Continental Tire, in conjunction with Michael Shank Racing, Ford, Roush Yates Engines, and International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), set out to break the records at Daytona International Speedway on October 9, 2013, in addition to clocking the single, fast-lap record on the oval with driver Colin Braun behind the wheel of the No. 14 Michael Shank Racing Ford EcoBoost-powered Daytona Prototype (DP) car on Continental's ExtremeContactTM DR (Dry/Race) tires.
The new world speed record for 10 kilometers from a standing start is officially 110.188 seconds, or 203.010 mph (326.714 kph). Additionally, the new 10-mile speed record from a standing start is officially 171.414 seconds, or 210.017 mph (337.989 kph). Both records have been homologated by the FIA Land Speed Records Commission and break the former world records held by Hans Liebold for the last 34 years.
Hypersilver Hits The Road
When it debuted at SEMA 2013, our 25th Anniversary project Mustang—Hypersilver—was a huge hit. It has been the subject of over a dozen articles in MM&FF and on-line, but it's not a Mustang we've built and tucked away. In the coming months, fans can get a close look at the '88 GT, as we'll be taking the silver Fox on tour.

NMRA True Street
Presented by MM&FF, Offers Exciting New Features in 2014!
Every NMRA event in 2014 features the True Street class, presented by Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, which often attracts over 100 racers competing for their chance at 13 different awards.
New for 2014, every NMRA True Street race will take place on the Saturday of the event and there will be special features as well as national record awards and an exclusive True Street invitational at the NMRA World Finals. Also starting this year, each True Street national record holder will receive an official certificate and custom leather jacket (limited to one per person) commemorating their accomplishment. Even better, all True Street winners and runners-up will be invited to participate in an exclusive True Street Invitational at the NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where the winner will receive a Ford Racing block that will be presented at the NMRA awards ceremony on December 12 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
All-New Ford Mustang Is Named Official Car of 2014 International CES Show
The most technologically advanced version of Ford's iconic pony car was recognized as official car of the world's largest hands-on showcase of emerging innovation—the 2014 International CES show held January 7-10, 2014, in Las Vegas.

"With world-class performance and innovative technologies wrapped in a sleek design, the all-new Ford Mustang puts you in control of the driving experience that suits you best."
As official car of the 2014 CES, a Mustang fastback was be prominently displayed in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition, Ford will feature the Mustang convertible in its main display area in the North Hall.
Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Shootout
Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Qualifying series puts street cars on famous tracks around the country in a televised series (Optima Batteries Search for the Ultimate Street Car). Each participant will enjoy three days of heart-pounding automotive events.
The events will also be nationally televised with the Optima Batteries Search for the Ultimate Street Car thanks to a partnership with MAV TV. All entrants who participate in the weekend events will have an opportunity to be invited to Las Vegas and participate in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational (OUSCI)—after the world famous SEMA Show. OUSCI invitations will be awarded to car and driver pairings with the highest points accumulated for the weekend. Competitors will also have the opportunity to get an invite to OUSCI by capturing one of the coveted Spirit of the Event awards at each event.
All events will include a road rally sponsored by Detroit Speed, an autocross sponsored by RideTech, a speed-stop challenge sponsored by Wilwood Disc Brakes, a fast-paced road-course competition sponsored by BFGoodrich Tires, and a design/engineering competition sponsored by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.
