In 12 cities spanning the United States, the 2014 Ford EcoBoost Challenge will return giving enthusiasts and potential customers the chance to get behind the wheel of some brand new Ford vehicles starting this April.

The tour will kick off in Phoenix, AZ with a few of Ford’s hottest vehicles ready to roll on three closed-course tracks, as well as back-to-back drives featuring the competition. Last year, 28,000 people took part in the EcoBoost Challenge driving Ford’s most popular new cars, trucks and SUVs.

Pit yourself against the clock in a Fiesta ST, or take out the Focus ST for some hot laps with a professional driver. If hybrid is your thing, drive the C-MAX Hybrid against the competition.

Some of the new vehicles gracing these events include the new Mustang, F-150, Transit Connect Wagon and the EcoBoost-powered Expedition.

“Whether it’s our EcoBoost or electrified products, there’s no better way to experience the quality, innovation and fun of the Ford lineup than to get in the driver’s seat,” said Amy Marentic, Ford global car and crossover group marketing manager. “The EcoBoost Challenge lets consumers experience for themselves the technology that helps Ford deliver better fuel economy and a more engaged driving experience than the competition. And it’s just a lot of fun!”

Ford’s EcoBoost is the leading engine offering the customer a turbocharger, direct injection and variable valve timing giving high-power and even higher fuel efficiency. It comes available in the Fusion, F-150, Escape and, soon, the new ’15 Mustang. By the end of 2014, a whopping 90 percent of Ford’s lineup in North America will have the option of EcoBoost.

The 2014 EcoBoost Challenge will be held on Saturdays starting in April going through mid-July. Each Challenge venue will include three closed-course setups, a ST Performance Academy layout, Hybrid Challenge course and EcoBoost Challenge Drive. Both EcoBoost and hybrid challenges allow participants to go against the competition.
