MM&F’s 1969 Sportsroof Project’s Hidden Discovery [Video]
Poking around inside the yet-unnamed 1969 Mustang SportsRoof project of Modified Mustangs & Fords Editor Steve Baur led to an unexpected discovery.
When a project car sits for an extended period of time, sometimes it starts to take on life of its own -- literally. We’re not talking about the Mustang here, but the rodents that may have made the cowl panel of this ’69 Mustang their home by the amount of “bedding” found inside the car. It looks like they may have been taking up this space for quite some time.
Luckily, no actual rodents jumped out of the project car in surprise but now that they are no longer welcome in the classic Mustang, they’ll have to go find another place to call home. Hopefully they won't be finding a cozy place in somebody else's project.
Another stroke of luck was finding that the driver’s side was the only one infested leaving the passenger side free of both rats and rust. Now that the rodents are gone and the nest is removed, this Mustang project can go on as planned.
If you haven't worked on your project car in awhile, you might want to make sure there are no uninvited guests. Check out the video to see just how much stuff was crammed into the cowl panel and fender of Baur's '69 Ford Mustang Sportsroof.
