Our spy photographers caught a first glimpse of the 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible, both top-up and top-down. This prototype is the first soft-top to be viewed by the general public. Though its front and rear fascia, doors, fenders, and quarter panels bare the typical manufacturer camouflage, the top-up shots appear to be undisguised–giving clear indication of its shape and form.

Previously the S550 coupe has been sited numerous times, however, our inside sources say that in some cases these were actually convertibles with heavy camouflage (making the coupe indistinguishable from the convertible). So far all we know about the new chassis is that it will be smaller, lighter and use an independent rear suspension. Ford is definitely aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mustang by releasing a world-class performer in every way possible.
