Back in the game and taking the automotive industry by storm, Steve Saleen is introducing three vehicles to add to his Heritage Collection. Of course, the first model is the 2014 George Follmer Edition Mustang edition styled from Follmer’s No. 16 1969 Boss 302. The restyled Follmer Edition ‘14 Mustang made an appearance at the Mustang Club of America’s 2013 Grand National “Mustangs at the Mickyard” held at the Walt Disney World Speedway this past weekend.

“We decided that we were going to do a limited run of 250 units each, but that’s because most of the Trans Am races were 250 miles,” Steve told us, “In particular the Riverside Mission Bell 250, which was the last race with the top 5 drivers Parnelli Jones and Dan Gurney – which we’ve already done – George Follmer, Swede Savage and Mark Donahue. We’ve covered iconic cars of that era.”

Powering the heart of the beast is a 302 4-valve DOHC V-8 putting out 470 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. Other modifications include a race tuned “High RPM” intake manifold, high-flow 90 mm throttle body, Saleen shaker hood intake system with low resistance air management, performance intake and exhaust camshafts, 6-speed MT-82 manual transmission and 3.73 gears.

Styling includes a racing style front chin spoiler, GF exclusive ’69-style shaker hood, GF edition hood pins, taillight chrome halos and a race-inspired fuel door among many other goodies. The suspension is Saleen’s own Heritage Series S4 High Performance Suspension. The exterior was painted to match Follmer’s ’69 Boss 302 sporting a red, white and black scheme complete with 302 side C-stripes.

There are details on the Mustang that some may overlook at first glance. Look closely at the exhaust and you’ll notice louvered exhaust tips. Flip over the floor mats and you’ll see embroidered GF Heritage racetrack outlines on each side. You can check out the full list of modifications here at Saleen.com.

Each of the three Detroit auto makers honored with a car from the Heritage Collection include the Mark Donahue Chevy Camaro, that will make its debut in January, and the Swede Savage Plymouth Barracuda, to be introduced next spring. With 250 built of each model, the price is set at $75,000.
