LED (light emitting diode) lighting for classic and late-model Mustangs has changed the way we use lighting in our cars. LEDs are cool-burning and virtually never have to be replaced. Install them and forget them. The technology has come so far, you can outfit your classic Mustang with 100-percent LED lighting and never have to change a light bulb again.

Mustang Project offers three basic LED taillight options for '67-'68 Mustangs. The standard MP-6004 kit comes with LED taillight modules and a special sequential flasher unit for $149.95. PN MP-6004-UB is also sequential but has a brighter batwing design for $169.95. And for those who aren't interested in the sequential feature, Mustang Project offers the non-sequential MP-6004-UB-NON kit for $129.95

For '68 California Specials, the MP-6000-UB Ultra Bright taillight kit ($269.95) offers bright LED lamps along with an easy-to-install module that plugs into the turn-signal-flasher plug under the dash.

Perhaps you're intimidated by new technology, yet there's nothing complicated about installing sequential LED taillights. Just plug them into your Mustang's taillight sockets, swap out the old-fashioned round Tungsol bimetallic flasher unit underdash with the special flasher module, and you're good to go.

13 The completed LED install yields brightness and a clear message. If you go with the batwing LED, visibility is even better and brighter.
