Avoid This Mistake: Tacky and Stupid Bolt-Ons
You would be amazed at how many potential Mustang car features we’ve had to pass on due to tacky bolt-ons best left in the attic, or better yet thrown in the garbage. Terrible under-dash instrument add-ons, ugly package shelf speakers, fender skirts, permanently installed splash guards, obnoxious taillight packages, unnecessary emblems, model year part mix-ups, and more can make the difference between getting your Mustang in our magazine and never getting there. We like tasteful modifications that excite, not tasteless add-ons that take away from the car’s natural beauty. We’re of the belief that Ford stylists did a pretty good job of knowing how to appoint these cars from the factory, so think twice before you bolt something on that just shouldn’t be there. Sometimes it seems like a car owner just walks through his local parts story with a huge magnet and anything that sticks to it goes on their car. Knock that crap off. And if you think stick-on portholes look good on a car, just do us all a favor and take up stamp collecting, okay?
