With state-of-the-art technology and a dose of common sense, TMI Products has created a brand-new reproduction of the '65-'66 Pony interior door panel that improves on Ford's original design from 40 years ago. Known for its quality upholstery, TMI uses Masonite wood, not cardboard, for its door-panel backboards, making them extremely rigid, durable, and resistant to moisture. Authentic Sierra grain vinyl, used on the original door panels in '65-'66, is a perfect match for TMI's replacement seat upholstery. Available colors include black, red, palomino, parchment, white, and dark red.

One of the most common problems with original and reproduction Pony door panels is the lack of support in the door-cup area. When closing the door, constant pulling on the door handle leads to fatigue, eventually ripping and tearing the foam and vinyl. TMI remedied the problem in its new panels by incorporating an ABS door pull, which is riveted to the backboard for additional support when using the door-pull cup to close the door.

Another big difference in the TMI panels is the original-type foam used to shape the Pony panel. Unlike other reproductions, the TMI foam is soft and pliable, not hard, for an OEM feel.

With the introduction of the new Pony door panel, TMI Products has added another great reproduction product for re-creating the original look and feel of classic Mustangs. TMI's door panels, upholstery, convertible tops, and other components are available from many Mustang parts supply companies.
