Everybody seems to love the remodeled '10 Mustang GT, and truth be told, there's much more to the new car than meets the eye. The suspension and interior have been completely reworked, and the engine calibration has been changed to offer a few more horsepower than the previous model.

As much as Ford has changed the Mustang for 2010, the aftermarket is keeping pace, and Accessible Technologies, otherwise known as ProCharger, recently provided us with one of its supercharger kits that's redesigned for the '10 Mustang.

For the newest Pony, two complete systems are available: HO Intercooled and Stage II Intercooled. The HO Intercooled system provides a P-1SC-1 head unit, a three-core air-to-air intercooler, a ProFlow bypass valve, 39.5-lb/hr fuel injectors, an upgraded in-tank fuel pump, a Diablosport Predator handheld tuner loaded with ProCharger's custom tuneup, and all of the necessary tubing to connect the supercharger to the throttle body.

The 2010 Mustang GT HO Intercooled ProCharger kit uses the same P-1SC-1 head unit of the previous S197 kits. The polished finish is available at an extra cost.

Where the HO kit features a combination of 2.5- and 3.0-inch tubing, the Stage II kit upsizes the charge tubing to 3 inches for the entire setup. The Stage II also comes with a new lower-profile electric fan and a coolant reservoir replacement tank, which are necessary to clear the larger tubing.

If you're looking to keep the modifications to a minimum, the HO kit is for you, however, those who see big power numbers in their Mustang's future will want to step up to the Stage II, as it will support more horsepower with its larger tubing. Both kits can be upgraded with the larger D-1SC and F-1 supercharger head units, but only the Stage II will really let you extract the power potential that the higher performance head units offer. The Stage II also lets you utilize the company's eight- and twelve-rib drive-belt systems.

For owners looking to provide their own fuel system upgrades and tuning solutions, ProCharger also has two tuner kits: an HO Intercooled Tuner Kit and a Stage II Intercooled Tuner Kit. These kits include everything but the tuner, fuel injectors, and fuel pump.

With the new front fascia on the '10 Mustang GT, the engineering team at ProCharger found that the tighter fitting bodywork required a bit of cutting to the backside of the lower grille. Seeing as how many new Mustang owners might be opposed to that, it designed an all-new air-to-air intercooler design that will eliminate any cutting.

The airbox is followed closely by the induction tube and interior engine sound tube. ProCharger supplies a plastic plug for the firewall-it's a stock item from the V-6 Mustang, which doesn't utilize the sound tube.

That's the only big change to the ProCharger system from the previous '05-'09 model, but ProCharger didn't stop there. It has been hard at work developing higher-horsepower components for the Stage II kit, like the new cog drive system, which reduces the chance of belt slippage in racing applications. The cog drive also allows end users to upgrade to any of the smaller F-series head units, which can support up to 1,100 hp. Upgrade the intercooler and you're good to about 1,600 hp. Beyond that, ProCharger will release a Three-Valve reverse-mount race system for extensively-modified engines and purpose-built race cars.

Obviously ProCharger's Mustang systems provide a clear upgrade path for owners looking to make additional power. Our HO Intercooled kit for the '05-'10 Mustang GT has an MSRP of $5,796, and the Stage II Intercooled system sells for $6,196. Larger capacity head units and intercoolers are available for an extra cost. The Cog Race Kit, with the F-1A head unit, has an MSRP of $6,996.

For our installation and test, we headed up to Novi, Michigan, where the ProCharger techs were installing the HO Intercooled kit on the Classic Design Concepts company car. The Torch Red Mustang GT already had 3,180 miles on the clock when we got our hands on it, as CDC has been using it to quickly develop its '10 product line.
