For owners of mod-motored Mustangs, doing common 5.0-level upgrades are usually few and far between. A popular, and often necessary, upgrade that you'll find on the typical small-block is a set of aftermarket valve covers. Frequently purchased out of a desire to personalize the car, aftermarket valve covers usually offer more room for valvetrain components, better oil control, and a multitude of breather options.

A newcomer to this market is Breed Enterprises and its Team Breed 4.6 Two-Valve cam covers. What began as a project for Bullitt Mustang owners turned into a full-fledged supplemental business for this company. It now has cam covers for most any 4.6 Two-Valve application-be it Romeo or Windsor based-including trucks. Team Breed's cam covers are cast aluminum, made from urethane molds, are finished on CNC machines to achieve a perfect fit, and have all the correct openings and mounting locations. The cam covers are available in satin ($280), anodized ($310), or polished ($430) and include new gaskets.

The crowning touch of Team Breed's cam covers is a flat pad near the oil filler that can be engraved with just about any logo, number, or phrase, at no charge. We thought the Team Breed cam covers would add just the right touch to our Livernois 5.0 modular in the 3g GT project, with the project car's logo engraved to match.
