This week’s Mustang Girl Monday is Bailey Slemp, whose first Mustang memory was when she was only seven years old. She said, “My brother bought his first blue 2000 GT that looked exactly like a model car we’d made months before. He’d take me to and from school in it and we’d cruise and listen to music, and I knew at the age of seven I needed a cool muscle car like his.” And that is precisely why in later years she got her own Laser Red 2000 GT convertible.

Bailey calls her Mustang “my graduation gift to myself.” She had been looking for a Mustang for over a year but every time she got close to getting one, something would fall through. Her boyfriend’s father works in a shop in Sevierville, TN and this GT had been sitting as the shop for about six months, so he called the owner about the car’s future, and the owner said he just didn’t have time for it anymore and had already bought his son a new car. Bailey continued, “So my boyfriend’s dad offered to buy it and the man said, ‘I don’t need your money, you can have it for free. I’ll send you the title.’ Needless to say, since that day I’ve been the happiest girl ever!”

She went on to say, “Since this is a project car that I just got my hands on, it only has tinted headlights and taillights, a Flowmaster exhaust system, and a special trick with the stock wing, but many more things are coming its way! I plan to get a styling bar, new top, and many other things. I’m super excited!”

Bailey is currently a part of the Red Mustang Registry and Whitaker Performance, and said, “Hopefully if things go well I’ll be able to call myself part of Team Mustang Girls one day!” Each week Team Mustang Girls features a different female Mustang owner.
