Jim Laporte is a longtime reader, but he waited until recently to send us pictures of his 1987 Mustang GT. The GT features a Ford Performance crate engine, a Vortech S-trim supercharger, a DiabloSport chip, 55-lb/hr injectors, a Walbro fuel pump, a Moroso 7-quart oil pan, and MSD ignition. The drivetrain consists of a five-lug conversion with 2004 Mustang brakes, Roush 18x9 wheels, Steeda Autosports suspension upgrades, SVE upper and lower control arms, a Tremec TKO 500 transmission, and 3.73 gears. The black interior is augmented with Mach 1–style seats, new trim pieces, and new carpet. Chris Grove tuned the car at Dyno Edge, and it’s currently putting out 570 rwhp at 12 psi of boost.
