You may remember our story on Rebuilding Generations and “Sarge,” the 1965 Mustang fastback restomod earlier in the year (http://www.mustangandfords.com/featured-vehicles/1802-youth-mentoring-program-builds-a-killer-1965-restomod-mustang/). This is a faith-based group that is really doing the Lord’s work when it comes to the automotive world, in getting the younger generation away from their video games and out to the garage to build cool cars.

The Mustang that they restomoded last year (and displayed at SEMA in Centerforce’s booth) was a full-tilt build full of custom tricks. Rebuilding Generations (RG) has also built other cars, such as a Charger, a Camaro, and a Jeep, but they’re back in our territory with a ’65 Mustang hardtop that belonged to a pastor in their area (Idaho) and was his wife’s high school car. RG’s founder Kevin Keep said, “We will be doing a complete rebuild on the car. We have currently stripped most of the car down and will be taking the motor and trans out in the next few weeks. Todd Burdette will be painting the car with the youth—Todd was the painter for the TV show Overhaulin’ for three years and 11 episodes. We will be starting the paint and body work sometime in the next few weeks as well.”

They’re painting it red with “a slight shade change from the original color.” The Mustang will have a complete TMI interior with a Pioneer stereo system and other interior upgrades. The engine and transmission will be rebuilt, and the plan at the moment is to convert it to EFI of some type.

We’re not sure when the car will be finished, but we’ll try to bring you a complete story when possible.
