Hydro-E-Lectric Shop Tour: We visit America’s convertible headquarters!
Hydro-E-Lectric first opened its doors back in 1976 and every component is built in the USA
If you’re a fan of convertibles, then you know that all the little components that allow us to enjoy the open top weather can eventually wear out. Yes, we’re talking about everything from convertible top cylinders to hose sets, including top latches and weatherstripping. Obviously, there are more ancillary items that can eventually go wrong, but you get the idea.
For this stop, we met up with second-generation owner Erika Wiesman, who was nice enough to open the doors at Hydro-E-Lectric and gave us a tour of the entire facility. We should also note that Hydro-E-Lectric first opened its doors back in 1976 and has been offering a full line of convertible top and power window components for both vintage and late-model mustangs ever since; best of all, every component is built in the USA.
