When bodies leave the paint shop they enter the Trim & Chassis line, where they receive a different rotation number, in this case 1904, which identifies their location on the line. This 1986 GT hatchback would be followed by 1905, 1906, 1907, and so on. The rotation number has nothing in common with the vehicle identification number (VIN).
