It's Mustang Girl Monday brought to you by Team Mustang Girls. This week we would like to share Faith Sternlieb's inspiring story about her newly acquired 1966 Mustang.

Faith's Mustang story has just begun. She doesn't have a long history with Mustangs or cars of any manufacturer, or any time period for that matter. She has always loved admiring classic cars but never dreamed of owning one due to a complete lack of familiarity and experience. Faith didn't grow up in a mechanical family or have friends who worked on cars. "I only acted on my passion this past year, upon completion of my PhD, when I decided I wanted to learn something practical and work with my hands." Her husband had worked on Mustangs in college and they had a garage full of all the essential tools. "My desire to learn to rebuild an engine with his experience on Mustangs culminated in the perfect storm. August 2015, we discussed the specs and I found and purchased through Craigslist a 302 2V engine from a'69 Fairlane Torino and a Wimbledon white '66 Mustang. Since then, we set up a workshop in the garage, installed a heater, and I have been working on her ever since. Although this project was only intended as an engine rebuild, I will be gutting and restoring Betty for road worthiness."

Faith recently subscribed to Mustang Monthly and the stories of projects has helped motivate her to keep working on Betty. "In addition, I have found the How To series through Mustang 360 invaluable! I was inspired by the latest story on Project Road Warrior to write for Mustang Girl Monday." Although Faith has a love for all classic cars (60's and older), Mustangs are the epitome of class and practicality to her. "The early Mustangs are perfect starter cars for novices like myself who have no mechanical experience. Betty and I have a long way to go before we begin our adventures together but she has presented me with one of my most invigorating challenges! I never knew I had it in me and as much as I am surprising myself, my family's reaction to my new hobby is priceless!"
