Building on the excitement generated by the 2015/2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang, Ford revealed its fantastic new color palate and feature options for the 2017 model year. Ford brings back the popular Grabber Blue and adds Ruby Red Metallic and the all-new Lightning Blue, which mimics the Liquid Blue seen on the Ford Performance vehicles at auto shows around the world. These colors replace Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange.

“Ford Performance is always listening to customer feedback,” said Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance. “At the end of last year, we started offering a back-seat option for Shelby GT350R due to customer demand. Now, we have adjusted the packages available to continue to provide more of what customers want on the Shelby GT350 Mustang.”

In 2015 and 2016, owners could select between a base model or either the Technology or Track Package. To keep interest high, Ford has expanded the standard features on the GT350. Last year, the Tech Pack equipped a Shelby with an engine oil cooler, power-heated and air-conditioned seats, voice-activated Navigation, MagneRide suspension, and a short rear spoiler. The Track Pack included engine, transmission, and rear-end coolers, manual Recaro seats, aluminum strut-tower brace, MagneRide suspension, and a larger rear spoiler. To the dismay of owners, navigation was not available with the Track Pack. For 2017 the Track Pack is now standard, giving all customers the features they want, including navigation. “No longer do buyers have to choose between the Track Pack and additional features,” Pericak added. “The 2017 Shelby GT350 also brings three new colors and the choice of either an available Electronics Package or a Convenience Package.”

Lightning Blue, Ruby Red Metallic, and Grabber Blue bring a little old school and a little new school to the 2017 Shelby GT350 Mustang lineup. The Shelby is also available with a variety of stripe and option packages, allowing maximum personalization. We’re excited to drive the 2017 GT350, which will be available in June, and as always, we’re wondering what’s coming next for the top-shelf Mustang.

2017 Shelby GT350 Mustang New features:

• Standard Track Package featuring aluminum tower-to-tower brace; high-downforce decklid spoiler; engine oil, transmission, and differential coolers; and MagneRide damping system.
• Three new colors—Ruby Red Metallic, Lightning Blue, and Grabber Blue—replace Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange.
• Two new available packages: Electronics Package includes SYNC 3, voice-activated navigation and nine-speaker audio system; Convenience Package includes the same options, and replaces manual Recaro seats with leather-trimmed power sport seats.
• Available audio system upgrade from seven to nine speakers with Electronics Package, Convenience Package and R-Electronics Package.
