We all know that Steve McQueen tore up the silver screen in a Dark Highland Green '68 Mustang fastback in Bullitt (Warner Bros., 1968). A few of us might even know that the original Batmobile was designed and built by George Barris from a Lincoln concept car called the Futura. Or that the menacing looking vehicle built for the movie The Car (Universal Studios, 1977) started life as a '71 Lincoln Mk III and was also designed and built by Barris. Never the less, Ford has played an important role in film, including TV and movie production from almost the very beginning.
We recently stumbled upon this list of Ford vehicles used in television and movies on Ford's media site. We dug up some related photos of our favorite Fords on film and thought we'd share with our readers here on our web site. There's sure to be an obscure reference or two missing, plus some of the more recent films like The Bucket List (Morgan Freeman drive's a "Shelby Mustang") didn't make the list, so be sure to comment in our forums with your own additions and favorite Ford movie moments.
