Mercury Comet

The Mercury Comet was produced between 1960 and 1977 and has bounced between a compact car and a mid-size car due to style changes. The Ford Comet was based on the Ford Falcon in the early years but in 1966 its body styling paralleled the Ford Fairlane. With a brief hiatus in 1970 the Comet name resurfaced in 1971 as a coupe, a GT, and a four-door sedan. The Comet was discontinued in 1977.
