After damaging a piston in the stock short-block, Matt and his buddy Chris Herring removed the engine and hauled it to Al Papitto at Boss330 Racing for a rebuild. The stock bottom end received a 0.020-inch overbore before the stock Cobra crankshaft, Oliver billet connecting rods, CP pistons, Total Seal piston rings, and ARP hardware were reinstalled. Al also worked over the stock Four-Valve heads with mild porting, Ferrea valves, Crower valvesprings, '01 Cobra intake camshafts, and stock '03 Cobra exhaust camshafts. Since the Hellion Power Systems single-turbo kit Matt added does away with the stock blower, an '01 Cobra intake with a ported lower was installed in its place. With a ball-bearing Q-Trim 76mm single turbo, the Cobra has made 718 hp and 746 lb-ft of torque. In case he needs more, Matt added an NX dry-nitrous kit with the company's boost-referenced progressive controller, which can program a nitrous curve. The nitrous purges via an intercooler spray bar.
