Wayne Kutchyn of HeadWinds in Westland, Michigan, built Jason's 306 using a '93 5.0 roller block, a stock crankshaft, Eagle rods, and JE pistons. Wayne added a Cam Motion solid-roller cam and lifters, Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads and intake, and a Barry Grant Demon 650-cfm carburetor. With a C4 behind the 306, the combination is good for 11.60s and 340 rwhp.

You don't see many early Fox Mustangs featuring aftermarket seats, but Jason added Corbeau TRS seats to the mix, along with several Auto Meter gauges to replace the factory units. The stock '82 gauge panel remains, but Jason transplanted Auto Meter gauges in place of the stockers. A Florida 5.0 gauge pod plays host to other Auto Meter offerings. To keep the 306 from coming apart, Jason utilizes an MSD lean/rich indicator to keep an eye on the air/fuel ratio.
