Peter Schmidt from Chanhassen, Minnesota, has been working on building his Legend Lime 2005 Mustang GT into a 1969 Mach 1 tribute car over the past two years. The exterior has been modified with a custom-painted Trufiber Mach 1 style hood, SpeedForm rearview mirrors, a Modern Billet pony delete black grille, a Mach 1 style side and trunk lid striping, a Cervini’s rear spoiler, MMD rear window louvers, and Shelby GT500 wheels complete with Continental Extreme Contact tires (18x9.5). All GT badges have been replaced with Tri-bar emblems. To make this three-valve more track and street worthy, Schmidt installed a Vortech V3 supercharger, Pypes Violator mufflers, and a Brenspeed 93-octane tune to bump this GT to 454 rwhp and 396 lb-ft of torque. Other goodies include a T-56 Magnum XL Tremec 6-speed transmission, Prothane polyurethane motor mounts, a Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft with 3.73:1 gears, a Kevlar clutch, Ford Performance GT500 front control arms, and GT500 Brembo front brakes. Future modifications involve welding in subframe connectors and adding a Mach 1 style chin spoiler.
