For Becky Aurenz it all started when she visited a Ford dealership to pull the trigger on a 2004 Torch Red Cobra ’vert. A Mystichrome Cobra convertible was on the showroom floor and wasn’t making the decision easy for her. After debating over which one to choose, she ultimately chose the Torch Red Cobra, but had always had a crush on Mystichrome. Fast-forward to 2007 and Becky bought a 2003 Mach 1. The Mach 1 was her daily driver for quite some time where it soaked up a little too much summer sun and the bumpers began to fade. That’s when Becky purchased 2004 Cobra bumpers for the front and rear. After bringing it to the shop, it was explained that the whole car could use a fresh coat of paint. That’s when the Mystichrome Mach 1 idea came in to play. Becky and her brother, Charlie, started pulling the motor and taking the car apart. Besides the bumpers, she changed out the side skirts, mirrors, and rear spoiler, and she shaved the driver’s door lock and antenna. Exhaust gases flow through MAC’s long-tube headers, Pro Chamber, and cat-back exhaust. Shifting is provided by a T56 Magnum transmission, and all suspension components have been upgraded to Maximum Motorsports with adjustable coilovers. Beefing up the rear are 3.73 gears with 31-spline Moser axles. Setting off the exterior and that beautiful Mystichrome paint are 18-inch CCW SP500 wheels in Hyperblack.
