When it comes to cold air intakes, JLT Performance is at the top of its game. Starting way back in 2003 out of the desire to make his own cold air intake, JLT’s Jay Tucker resigned from his collision repair career to devote all his time to making intakes and that’s when JLT Performance was born.

These days, JLT Performance is still just as devoted to making horsepower as it was in the early days. The company is also dedicated to making sure Mustang drag racing continues to grow, as well. To illustrate that point, JLT is the presenting sponsor for the Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine Spring Break Shootout.

JLT Performance’s cold air intakes are popular on all Mustangs, especially on 2003-2004 Cobras. One of the very first cars Jay Tucker designed a cold air intake for was his own 2003 Cobra.

The Spring Break Shootout takes place Sunday March 5th as part of the NMRA Ford Nationals event at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida. The quickest 16 True Street competitors from Saturday’s back-to-back passes do battle on Sunday in a .400 Pro Tree, heads-up format to decide a winner. Of course, Spring Break Shootout competitors also must complete the 30-mile True Street cruise, as well.

The Spring Break Shootout class is hotly contested, with cars routinely in the low-8s, and sometimes high-7s. As for JLT’s Jay and Lisa Tucker’s excitement over sponsoring the Spring Break Shootout, "We're happy and excited to be a part of the NMRA and its impressive racing scene. With so many NMRA racers using and winning with our products, we wanted to become more involved and show our support. JLT Performance looks forward to the 2017 season and many more after."

Is it March, yet?
