Daryl Reed Jr. from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, picked up this 1993 Fox-body LX as his first car when he was just 16. Now 35, he brought the Fox out of storage after 11 years, charged up the battery, and fired her up. Daryl gutted the old gray interior and installed a new all-black factory interior. He pulled the motor and sent it off to a buddy to be rebuilt, where it was bored 0.030 over. After putting it back into the car, Daryl added a Ford Racing E303 cam, Edelbrock Performer heads and upper and lower intake, a BBK 70mm throttle-body and mass air sensor, a BAMA chip, 24-lb/hr injectors, and Ford Racing valve covers. Air flows through a BBK cold air kit releasing exhaust gases through BBK shorty headers, an X-pipe, and a MagnaFlow exhaust setup. Ignition components consist of 10mm live wires and such MSD items as cap, rotor, ignition box, and distributor. Also installed is a new Ford Racing heavy-duty five-speed T-5 transmission, a new aluminum Ford Racing driveshaft and 3.73 gears, a flywheel, and an Exedy clutch. Daryl added BBK fuel rails, a 150-amp alternator, a Griffin radiator, and all new hoses and lines. The whole car was repainted back to Reef Blue. New black pony wheels wrapped with Sumitomo rubber help set off the exterior. Only 1,000 miles have accumulated on the new motor, and Daryl now enjoys cruising with the family on sunny weekends.
