Snapshot: Greg Dortone's 1988 Ford Mustang Notch is the Perfect Fox
Greg Dortone • Delaware County, PA • 1988 Notch
Greg Dortone is 21 and has been a loyal reader of MM&FF since he started high school in 2009. Greg’s brother pointed out a Fox-body notch rolling down the turnpike and he has been hooked ever since. After six years of going to school, working hard, and pinching pennies, he was finally able to purchase his 1988 notch. It took three years to locate the perfect candidate, and it had to be approved by his father and brothers. Greg’s 1988 notch is a 302 bored 0.060 over with SRP pistons; Edelbrock aluminum heads; Trick Flow upper and lower intake; a Comp Cam valvetrain and cam; 24 lb/hr injectors; a 70mm throttle body; a 130-amp alternator swap; an MSD distributor, coil, and box; a Tremec 600 transmission; a Ram Power grip clutch; a short-throw shifter; an aluminum driveshaft; and axle-back exhaust. He rebuilt the rear after its first track day spit out the driver-side axle. It now has the 8.8 with 4.10 gears, a Detroit locker, and Strange 31-spline axles with C-clip eliminators.
