Stanced Stang

Daniel Mairella • Bloomfield, NJ • '08 Mustang GT

Dan is no stranger to Mustangs with this '08 GT being his third Pony. This baby rumbles with the help of SLP long-tube headers and X-style midpipe, Borla cat-back exhaust, and FRPP cams. Other mods include a Steeda intake, Motive 3.90 gears, Hurst shifter, tune, GT500 carbon-fiber rear disc brakes, Classic Design Concepts chin spoiler, Raxiom fogs, Moroso oil catch can, and 18x10 Rota Grid wheels. That sinister stance is provided by KW Variant 3 coilovers with ground control camber plates, strut bar, and Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. Future plans involve a supercharger, or to make power through a naturally aspirated 302 stroker.

Mod Bug

Curtis Sowell • Arlington, TX • '04 Mustang GT

After Curt's father died leaving behind inheritance money, he was on the lookout for his fourth Mustang. His wife, Leann, found this '04 Mustang GT for $10,000 with 80,000 on the clock. Soon after purchase, the mod bug bit and his new Mustang had FR500 Anthracite wheels, HPR lowering springs, JBM caster/camber plates, cold-air intake, SCT programmer, and a rumbly Bassani exhaust setup. Even after the aforementioned mods, Curt and Leann are far from finished.

Family Rivalry

Charles Walker • Fort Meade, MD • '12 Mustang GT

Charles is the black sheep of a GM-lovin' family with his '12 Mustang GT. After testing both the new Camaro and Mustang, He picked up this new GT and then added a Boss intake manifold, AIRAID Parnelli Jones–edition intake, JBA long-tube headers with off-road X with cutouts, and Roush axle-back complete with Boss side exhaust. Other go-fast goodies include 3.31 gears, a Barton short-shifter with two-post shift bracket all tuned together by AED Performance. Suspension upgrades come from Eibach Pro Springs, a J&M Panhard bar and lower control arms, BMR upper control arms, and Whiteline LCA relocation brackets. Cosmetically, the Mustang has a Saleen Powerflow hood and Saleen grille, GT500 spoiler and rear valance, Boss front valance with splitter, Trufiber carbon-fiber decklid, Roush side splitters, carbon-fiber wrapped roof, and 20-inch Nurburgring wheels.

Naughty Notch

David Hilner • Rochester, NY • '90 Notch

David's '90 Notch started life as a four-banger, but it didn't take long for him to convert his pride and joy into a mean 5.0L. His 310ci engine now has an MSD 6AL Digital Plus ignition system, ProSystems 850cfm carburetor, and Victor Jr. intake. All of those horses are tucked under a Harwood 4-inch cowl hood. David's future plans include a full UPR chrome-moly suspension with coilovers, Aeromotive A1000 fuel system with fuel cell, AFR 185 Renegade heads, 10-point rollcage, and new rear end with Strange 35-spline axles and full spool. David hopes to start running NMRA and local events in upstate New York. Good luck, David!
