White Unseen

Larry Hamlin, master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, recently served a tour in Afganistan. He had been without a Mustang for a bit after selling his '96 Mystic Cobra, but his search for another intensified during his off time while in-country. He looked at '03-'04 Cobras, New Edge Mustangs, S197 Saleens, and even a few Foxes before arriving at this '12 GT. He found it online in Texas, which also made it somewhat easier since he's stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, as of this writing. Our boy Joe Cram checked it out since the car was in Houston. Once he gave the car his approval, Larry bought the car sight unseen. The GT has a Boss intake, a JLT Performance oil separator, American Racing Headers long-tubes, Borla Stinger axle-back, an MGW shifter, and an SCT tune. Since Larry likes the curves, the car is outfitted with Eibach Pro Kit springs, Koni shocks and struts, and Whiteline Racing sway bars. Larry wanted visual appeal as well, and to that end, the GT boasts Niche wheels wrapped in Falken FK452s up front and Michelin Pilot Super Sports out back, a Saleen grille, and an HID conversion.

Fifth Saleen

Tim Preston from Greenbriar, Tennessee, purchased this '00 Saleen S281 in 2013 from the second owner with just 21,000 miles on it. “This is the fifth Saleen I've owned, and by far the closest to new out of all of them,” Tim says. “It still smells new inside,” he adds. Tim tells us the only extra Saleen options on the car appear to be 3.55 gears, floormats, and the 10-inch rear wheels. The second owner replaced the car's original treads with the correct Pirelli P-Zero tires from Saleen. Tim says he has the receipts for the tires and every stitch of paperwork since the car was new, including the window sticker. However, the car is slightly modified, with an off-road X-shape crossover pipe, '02 Mustang hoodscoop, a grille delete, and an MGW shifter with a Bullitt knob.

Making Progress

To us, it looks like Ryan Schema's '91 GT is almost “done.” However, Ryan says, “I still have a long way to go.” We don't know how much further you can go. It has a 347 stroker under the hood, with Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads and RPM II intake, Comp Cams valvetrain, BBK Performance headers, and a Flowmaster after-cat exhaust. Behind the stroker is an Astro Performance A5 transmission, and to help slow the go, there is a five-lug Cobra brake conversion behind '94-'95 GT 17-inch wheels.
