There's no doubt about it, Ford's Mustang has been on a roll lately. A strong roll, since reaching the golden age of 50 years old, on April 17, 2014. We celebrated the 50th in Charlotte, North Carolina and Las Vegas, and on the West Coast, birthday revelry continued a week later, at the Fabulous Fords Forever show (at Knott's Berry Farm) in Southern California.

However, when it comes to parties celebrating Fords--especially Mustangs--in the LA area, enthusiasts know that if Galpin Ford is throwing that particular shindig, having your name on the VIP guest list is a status that is highly desireable.

We earned a spot on that list, and joined Galpin's Boeckman family, Henry Ford III, Vaughn Gittin Jr, and many other luminaries at the Petersen Automotive Museum, for a rockin' launch of the mega-dealership's Mustang Madness Weekend festivities, which are being held at the museum on May 3rd and 4th.

A brand-new exhibit, "Mustangs Forever: 50 Years of a Legend," is the highlight of the Mustang Madness Weekend events being held at the Petersen (6060 Wilshire Blvd), as are autograph sessions with Mustang Heroes on Saturday, and a Mustang only car show on Sunday.

As is the norm for a Galpin gala, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. And, as you'll see in the photos from our peek at the exhibit, it's something you'll definitely want to check out.
