All Ford Auto Show - Reynolds Wrap-Up
Saturday Was A Washout, But Sunday's Showing In The Laurel Mountain All-Ford Auto Show More Than Made Up For The Shortened Event
It seems we're always reporting on the weather during our NMRA car show reports. Let's face it-weather is nearly always a factor at any outdoor race and car show. It's either too hot, too cold, too wet, or too windy. Rarely are we graced with perfect Chamber of Commerce conditions. At the NMRA's opening event in Bradenton, Florida, in March ("Let the Show Season Begin," June '08, p. 78), the wind was a factor, especially for the drag racers who had to fight a nasty crosswind as they rocketed down the quarter-mile. Even the car-show participants were affected as they chased signs and wiped off dust.
For round two of the NMRA's '08 season at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Georgia, on the first weekend in April, rain played a major role, washing out most of Friday and all of Saturday for racers and the car show. Fortunately, Sunday dawned with clear skies for a full day of nice weather for the Laurel Mountain All-Ford Auto Show.
Because we can't attend all of the events on the NMRA's seven-race schedule, we're indebted to photographer Paul Rosner for providing event photos and information.
