2013 NMRA Race Classes

Afco Street Outlaw
Street Outlaw is new for 2013 and will showcase a variety of 7-second machines running on slicks or drag radials. Rules allow for small-blocks and-big blocks, naturally aspirated small- and big-blocks, or single-power-adder vehicles using DOT 275/60-15 radial or true 28x10.5 slicks. All engine types are permitted a maximum of 588 ci. Power-adder options range from a single 94mm turbo, two supercharged combinations using the Procharger F1-X and XB-105, nitrous small-blocks with multiple guns, and nitrous big-blocks with a maximum of two stages. With low-7-second e.t.’s and speeds closing in on 200 mph, this will be the fastest and most exciting class in 2013.

Edelbrock Renegade
Small-block Ford engines, combined with nitrous oxide injection or a supercharger and a small tire is a recipe for great racing. These mid-8-second Mustangs make up Renegade. With a max cubic inch limit of 410 and a single-power adder, racers are given weight breaks based on their combination to keep the playing field even.

Nitto Tire Factory Stock
Nitto Tire Factory Stock is an affordable way to race for an NMRA championship. Drivers can run '79-newer Mustangs and Fords with a 302- or 4.6L-based bullet no larger than 313ci. With high 10-second performance at an affordable cost, Factory Stock is a great way to get into heads-up racing.

Strange Engineering Coyote Stock
Equalizing the competition with sealed crate engines and electronics is what Strange Engineering Coyote Stock is all about. Open to any '54-and-newer Ford body, competitors must use a specific Ford Racing Performance Parts 5.0-liter Coyote crate engine. Coyote Stock is entering its second season and we look for this to be one of the most competitive NMRA classes in 2013.

Roush Performance Super Stang
If you have an '05-present Mustang, Roush Performance Parts Super Stang is for you. This bracket-style class is only for S197 Mustangs powered by 4.6L, 5.0L, 5.4L, and V-6 engines. Qualifying is based on reaction time and dial-ins are set 0.1 quicker than each racer's best qualifying run. With a variety of combinations and modifications allowed, Super Stang offers a wide range of performance levels and close racing.

Detroit Locker Truck & Lightning
Detroit Locker Truck and Lightning class is one of the NMRA's most popular categories. It's open to any Ford truck or SUV running a Ford powerplant. Qualifying is based on reaction time and dial-ins are set 0.1 quicker than your best qualifying run.

Exedy Racing Clutch Modular Muscle
Modular Muscle is a bracket-style class for Ford vehicle running a 4.6L, 5.0L, 5.4L, or V-10 modular engine. Qualifying is based on reaction time and the field is based on an NHRA Sportsman ladder. This all-run field is automatically dialed in 0.1 quicker than their fastest qualifying run and only e.t.s between 8.80 and 15.70 are allowed to compete.

Open Comp
Open Comp is open to any year, make, or model Ford-powered vehicle. Qualifying is based on reaction time, and dial-ins are set 0.1 quicker than your best qualifying time. If you've bracket raced and are looking to compete at an NMRA event, Open Comp may be the perfect fit.

Terminator/GT500 Shootout Class (MD and KY events only)
The Terminator/GT500 Shootout class brings together some of the quickest Cobras and GT500s in the U.S. in a winner-take-all format. If you ever wondered what the quickest SVT product is, this is the event for you. Each Terminator/GT500 Shootout participant at the Maryland event will also receive a free entry into Saturday's SVT Muscle True Street class (must fit True Street rules).

Race Pages Bracket Showdown
Race Pages Bracket Showdown is open to all Ford-powered or Ford-bodied vehicles. Bracket Showdown is broken up into B-I, B-II, and B-III, which give racers three levels of competition ranging for all-out racecars to streetcars. Bracket classes are run each day at NMRA events.
