Every year the baddest Fords in the Northeast converge on Englishtown Raceway Park for a few days of Blue Oval fun at the annual Fords at E-Town. Exciting drag racing action coupled with incredible show cars make for an amazing weekend no matter what you come out to see.

With a scheduling change moving the event to early August, the normal backdrop of New Jersey in autumn gave way to hot summer days. Though rain rolled in Saturday night, Sunday's festivities went off without a hitch.

The three-day event started Friday night with Fords versus The World and some great muffled street car racing. Fifty-eight hot rods competed for brand dominance and bragging rights. Though the Ford boys and girls did not come home with the title, it was a great fight till the very end.

The gates opened early Saturday for the Real Street Road Tour competitors, including last month's cover car owner Dave Salardino and his 9-second LX. After going through tech inspection, drivers were lead by county police on a 15-mile cruise before returning to the famed quarter-mile for back-to-back-to-back passes. Twenty-eight Ford enthusiasts and racers completed the runs, while vying for the top spot. In the end it was John Buttacouoli with a 10.22 average taking the win. Saturday competition also included Trophy Eliminator, Money Bracket, Mustang Bracket, and Ford and Lightning Truck classes.

As the gates opened Sunday, rain threatened to cut the weekend short. Once the decision was made to get the day's racing underway and the track was dried, the action did not disappoint. The trophy Eliminator class was brought back for Sunday, along with Open Comp, Super ET, Pro ET, and the popular Gear Jammer Bracket class.

The car show and midway action was just as impressive as the battle on track. Hundreds of Ford fanatics brought their Blue Oval iron to compete in the car show portion of the weekend.

If you missed the 2009 Fords at E-Town, mark your calendar now, because you don't want to miss any of next year's action!
