Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords
2009 Steeda Stampede – Up Close and Personal
Steeda Autosports hosts the 10th Annual Steeda Stampede, complete with car show, dyno runs, and a tour of the facility.
Designed to serve as a platform for Steeda customers and other Ford performance fans to gather, the Steeda Stampede is a mix of food, fun, and Fords. This year, it was held at Steeda Autosports Headquarters in Pompano Beach, Florida on Saturday, October 17. Despite a short-lived heavy rain shower, the turnout was great.
The morning began with Mustangs, Lightnings, and the like traveling from near and far to converge on Steeda Autosports’ Florida headquarters. As the cars (and trucks) rolled in, participants began to hear the music coming from the DJ’s speakers and the sound of the rollers spinning on the Dynojet. Participants could pay to get his/her car dyno tested at a discounted price, or just stand around to watch others.
Meanwhile, the smell of hamburgers and hot dogs being grilled was making everyone’s tummy growl. Stangs of South Florida Mustang club hosted the food tent, and there was plenty to go around.
By 11:00 a.m., Dario Orlando, founder and President of Steeda Autosports, was addressing a crowd, which had gathered in the showroom. He led the group on a guided tour of the facilities, showing off some of Steeda’s newest vehicles and products. He even took the group into the ultra-clean machining room, where everyone attending could get up close to see how some parts are manufactured.
Steeda Autosports’ new 2010 Mustang Q350 was on display and open for attendees to sit in the driver’s seat. Others were on display as well, like a 2009 European Ford Fiesta and an original Fox-body Steeda race car.
Before it was all over, car show prizes were presented, and door prizes were handed out. Some just came to show off their ride, some wanted to get on the dyno, and others just wanted to hang out with their friends and enjoy the atmosphere. Regardless, there was certainly something there for everyone.
