27th Annual Mustang, Shelby & Ford Roundup
Mustang Club Of Tampa Hosts 27th Annual Show
The Mustang Club of Tampa hosted their 27th Annual Mustang, Shelby & Ford Roundup at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa on October 25, 2008. The main sponsors of the show were MOSI and Bill Currie Ford- Lincoln-Mercury, of Tampa. This was our 7th year at MOSI.
The show featured 244 cars, 23 vendors, and a very large number of spectators. Each car entered into the show received two complimentary tickets to the museum courtesy of MOSI. The weather started out wet and damp, but cleared up by mid-morning, and was absolutely perfect for the remainder of the day, with temperatures near 80 degrees. One lucky person took home $628.00 from the 50/50 raffle.
The quality of the cars was exceptional. We had everything from 64 1/2 through 2009 models. The vintage Mustangs ranged from National Award winning restorations to radical modifieds and everything in between. Power plants ranged from six cylinder engines to 428 Cobra Jets. Late models included everything from stock six cylinders to modified GTs, Roush's, and SVT Cobra's. We had a large turnout of 2005-2009 Mustangs in attendance, many with a variety of aftermarket upgrades. There were also ten SVT Cobras and seven Shelby's in attendance. We also had a great assortment of special interest Ford powered vehicles including Model T's, Cobra replicas, T-Birds, F150s and a 1959 retractable.
We wish to offer a "Thank You" to all of our supporters and contributors to our door prizes and raffles. Due to their great generosity, many of our participants were able to go home with some type of gift. Also, a huge "Thank You" to Bill Currie Ford-Lincoln-Mercury for their financial and logistical support of this event. In addition, we owe MOSI a huge "Thank You" for making their facility available to us and for giving making us feel so welcomed. We truly appreciate everyone's help in making this show such a success.
The Mustang Club of Tampa made a contribution to MOSI's Kids-In-Charge Program, which provides hand-on exhibits for children visiting the museum. We also made a contribution to Mason Dixon's Christmas Wish Program, a local charity that helps Bay Area families over the holidays.
