NMRA Racing - EFI Renegade
The Official NMRA Fan Guide
Confined to small blowers, street nitrous systems, stock electronics, and internal engine limitations, the power of these full-weight street brawlers will leave you breathless. EFI Renegade is a limited-power-adder class for small-block fuel-injected Fords with a single power adder. You will see Fox-chassis Fords, including '96-present 4.6 Mustangs, competing in this class with a maximum of 360ci motors and a limit of 28.6x10.6 rear tire size as measured. Intake manifolds, cylinder heads, and 0.550-lift hydraulic roller cams are just some of the concessions to power. In eliminations, there will be an all-run field run on a pro-tree (0.400) NHRA Sportsman ladder.
One to Watch:The '03 champion will likely come from this list of racers. However, Renegade is one of those classes that a newcomer can enter and be an impact racer. Could you be the next Renegade class champion?
Quick Fact:As in many of the classes at NMRA, Renegade racers are limited to a small hydraulic-roller camshaft. Still, through years of development of valvetrain components, these little motors spin past 7,500 rpm and make close to 800 hp.
Inaugural NMRA Ford NationalsYou read that right-the NMRA is coming to Texas! In response to a huge demand from our Western racers, the NMRA has nailed down the beautiful Texas Motorplex for the fourth race on the '03 NMRA calendar. This is a world-class dragstrip that will be able to take anything the NMRA racers can throw at it, and we can't wait to hit the Lone Star State at the end of May! Come watch local NMRA hot shots such as Mike Murillo, Chip Havemann, and Doug Mangrum as they defend their home turf from the rest of the NMRA crew. They say that everything is big in Texas, and this event will live up to that!
