The Mustang-360 crew is trading in the office chairs for a rental car and making the 550+ mile trek from Tampa to Charlotte for the 50th Mustang Birthday Celebration. While we hold down the Charlotte location, our friends and colleagues are headed to Vegas to cover the festivities over on the west side. Thousands of people (and, of course, Mustangs) are expected to pour into Charlotte to celebrate the pony car’s big 5-0 and we will be right there to bring you the action.

While we are there we will be conducting interviews, seeking out future feature cars, participating in cruises and covering everything aspect of the 50th that we possibly can.

Charlotte Motor Speedway – Concord, North Carolina

RK Motors – Thursday Unveiling

RK Motors plans to reveal their latest project car on Thursday, a 1967 Shelby GT500 tribute named RK527. It is a Jon Kaase crate engine build capable of 800 horsepower.

Friday Evening Cruise

We will be covering the Friday night cruise so keep a look out to see if your ride shows up in the coverage. This evening cruise will leave from Charlotte Motor Speedway into Concord/Kannapolis leaving at 6 p.m.

Interviews

Expect stories where we interview the likes of John Clor from Ford, Jack Telnack (Chief Designer of the Fox-body Mustang), Chris Buescher (Nationwide Mustang driver), automotive legend Steve Saleen, and drift champ Vaughn Gittin Jr.

Daniel Carpenter Mustang Tour

We plan to explore the extensive Mustang collection of Daniel Carpenter at the Classic Ford Museum during our stay in Charlotte. If interested in exploring yourself, there is no admission and plenty of parking. The tours begin at 10 a.m. and go through April 16 – April 18.

Our Top Picks

Each one of us on the M360 team will be picking our top ten favorite cars from the show and will be posting up on our www.Mustang-360.com website and through our social media outlets. We will be making our way through M.O.R.E. parking area, inside the Speedway oval, Mustang Midway, Vendor Village and everything in between.

If you're a book worm, stop by Motor Books while in Charlotte and check out over 2,500 automotive books including Donald Farr's Mustang Fifty.

Book signings and airbrush demonstrations will take place by author JoAnn Bortles.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Brand Manager KJ Jones from 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords will be hitting up Vegas to cover the action over on the west coast.

Thursday begins with the opening ceremony and after that, track action! We will be checking for future feature cars while in Vegas and plan to attend the evening bash at the New York casino. On Friday, coverage will continue for on-track activity, and an evening party will take place at Shelby American headquarters.

If interested in running -- yes, actual running -- a marathon takes place at 7 a.m. After that, we'll be making a final sweep on-track and show paddock.

Hope to see you there!
