Come November we're betting most of our readers will be dreaming of spring and the day that they can get their Mustangs out of hibernation. However, for those of us in Florida and other southern climates we enjoy year-round car shows, cruise-ins, and cars and coffee events. So, if you are lucky enough to live in such locations don't brag too much to your northern friends, it simply isn't nice!

Now if you live in the southeastern part of the US it's less than a day's drive to Florida's west coast where you can enjoy small city charm, great beaches, museums (Henry Ford's winter estate is in Ft. Myers, you need to check it out!), and more. Obviously, we like to take in a car show or two while visiting an area or when on vacation, and the Ponies Under the Palms Mustang and Ford Show that the Mustang Club of West Central Florida puts on is something to put on your vacation calendar.

The show this year is being held November 24 from 8-3 and it is the club's 28th annual show, so you know they have the whole parking, awards, and so forth down pat for a smooth and enjoyable day. The show is once again being held on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch, a beautiful setting with shops, restaurants, and more for the whole family to enjoy. Lakewood Ranch is just off I-75 at exit 213, making for easy access as you come down I-75 through Florida too.

Mustangs of all years/generations and other special interest Ford cars and trucks are welcome to enter for judging, awards and prizes. The cost to register a vehicle is $25 before November 18 ($30 day of show). Check in 8-10 am. All cars entered before the deadline will be judged using outside judges. The public is invited free of charge to see outstanding examples of older and newer Mustangs.

Raffles are held throughout the show, with the grand prize being a fabulous weekend in Sarasota, Florida. The weekend includes two nights at a top hotel, a gourmet dinner, a limo ride around town to see the sites, and more. Tickets are only $5 and can be purchased in advance with show registration or during the show itself. Proceeds will benefit two wonderful charities, Southeastern Guide Dogs and Take Stock in Children.
