The Lyon Air Museum hosted a well-attended tribute to Carroll Shelby and his indelible legacy on Saturday, March 23, 2019. The museum is located at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, CA. Iconic Shelby cars like Dan Gurney’s personal 1963 Cobra “Sebring Edition” were featured inside the museum next to working airworthy vintage aircraft—the museum looked like a salute to speed.

This show was like a Shelby history book on wheels. The owners drove their classic and modern rides to the show with no trailer queens in sight. Awards were given out, including the “Best Shelby” that went to CSX202, a 1962 Shelby 260 Cobra competition roadster owned by Mark Gardner.

In closing, there was a “Rev Up for Carroll” salute that rocked the airport!
