Well it is Day 3, "hump day," here at Hot Rod Drag Week that three brought the racers to zMax Dragway in Concord, NC. What a facility! Everyone was impressed by the sheer presence that a 4-wide dragstrip emanates.

Racing would, once again, be delayed due to foggy conditions. For some, this proves to be a blessing, as it gives time to finish up any last minute repairs from the drive the night prior. For others it is a hurry up and wait game.

There’s not to much to report from the South Carolina to North Carolina drive. Since it was much shorter than the pre-determined route, due to the waiving of the requirements to stop and get photos at checkpoints along the way (that has always been required at Drag Week to ensure everyone follows the prescribed route instead of loading onto/into a trailer somewhere along the way and breaking the rules), and it seems everyone made it relatively headache free. The good news is that we are winning the race to beat Hurricane Florence!

Once the fog lifted, racing commenced and continued on for the entire scheduled time. In fact, the action was relatively non-stop, with very few breakages. That's a true testament to how well these street/race cars are built.

The road trip to Bristol, TN was also abbreviated in light of the Hurricane. Racers were required to go to the first check point at Pat Musi Racing Engines, but after than any route to Bristol was allowed.

As we head into Day 4, the Mustang and Ford contingency continues to look strong. So, Happy Hump Day, and on to Day 4!
