Drive it fast, make it last! That's the tagline for one of the most anticipated drag racing spectacles on the year, Hot Rod magazine’s Drag Week. Drag Week started in 2005 as the ultimate test of who had the fastest real street car in the world. It involved driving from track to track with no support vehicle (the cars could pull a small trailer but could not be ON a trailer), make at least one pass at each track, and try to stay together for a full 5 days. It’s grueling for sure, and every year participants step up the game to the point that the Unlimited class is now filled with street-drivable Pro Mod cars.

Drag Week 2018 kicked off Sunday September 9 at Atlanta Dragway with registration and tech followed by test and tune. There was no shortage of beautiful Mustangs! Here's a sampling of some of the cars spotted in tech and those that took advantage of today's test session.

Monday kicks off the official first day of competition, also in Atlanta. From there, the hot rods will take to the street and head to Darlington, South Carolina; zMax Dragway in Charlotte, NC,; Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN; and then back to Atlanta.
