While some areas of the country experience year round car show weather (pointing fingers at you California!) some locales roll up the show tents and pack everything away as old man winter comes a calling. The folks at ididit have been holding an open house and car show as an end of summer tradition since 1991 for vehicles 1985 and older. For their 2018 show they’ve announced that they’re opening the show up to all make/model/year show quality vehicles. So now instead of just street rods, trucks, and classic muscle anyone with a modern truck, muscle car, sports car, etc. are welcome to come join the fun!

“We are extremely excited to open up our annual car show to all of the great vehicles in Michigan and throughout the Great Lakes region, regardless of year, make or model” said Ted Keating of ididit. “We want everyone who loves beautiful cars and trucks to join us in celebrating the hot-rodding lifestyle.”

The annual show’s awards are actually made in-house by ididit employees using parts from components ididit manufactures! Pretty cool!

Held at the ididit facility in Tecumseh, Michigan, the annual ididit Car Show & Open House offers a day of fun for the whole family. The show includes facility tours, vendors, food trucks, and a live DJ spinning your favorite period tunes. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods for the food drive, and the Lenawee Humane Society will raffle a custom golf cart featuring an ididit steering column.

Of course, the cars are the real stars, with owners competing for coveted trophies made in-house by ididit in eight categories:

-1948-Older Street Rod

-1949-1964 Car

-1965-1979 Car

-1980-Newer Car

-1948-1966 Truck

-1967-1987 Truck

-1988-Newer Truck

-Best Restored

The ididit annual show has grown through the years and now takes up the property grounds and the lot across the street!

Also new this year is a T-shirt design contest involving students from the graphic imaging classes at LISD Tech Center in Adrian, Michigan. Submissions will be posted on ididit’s Facebook page prior to the show, with the top vote-getter becoming the official T-shirt design for the event.

The open house tradition was started nearly three decades ago as a way for ididit to thank customers and the local community for their support. Registration is free and you can get the online registration form HERE. Deadline for registration is September 7, 2018 and while you’re waiting for this year’s show to happen visit the ididit website to see photos from past shows at
