It was a fantastic day at the Victorian Mustang Round-Up incorporating the Australian Shelby Nationals, held recently on the 22nd of October in Melbourne, Australia. Although the weather was inclement, there were still 13 Shelby Mustangs on display, which was a credit to the Shelby owners who travelled from all over to support the Shelby Nationals. We were informed that there were over 350 Mustangs on display which was a great effort.

The new location at the National Steam Centre was easy to access and seemed to be a hit with the Mustang owners. Mustang Motorsport had a great display of Shelbys on display as well as the 50th Anniversary Shelbys which looked fantastic and were a big hit with the Shelby fans—we’re sure there will be orders flying out the door soon for these very special Shelbys. It was also a great effort from the Australian Shelby Representatives to fly in to support the annual event, so thanks to them all and also doing a great job with the Australian Shelby Registry.

There were quite a few Mustangs getting judged on the day including the author’s Dark Moss Green ‘67 Shelby G.T. 500, and at the end of the day—together with Fred Pascale (S.A. Shelby Rep) Acapulco ‘68 Shelby G.T. 500KR—both cars won Gold Awards and Andre Stoffers won a Silver Award for his White ‘66 Shelby G.T. 350 in the Australian Shelby Nationals Concours category.

Thanks to the support of the Shelby owners, Australian Shelby Reps, Mustang Motorsport, S.A.A.C., and the Victorian Mustang Club/Committee, the whole event was a hit even with a little bit of rain. With clear skies, there would have been over 25 Shelbys and 500 Mustangs on display. Come on Mother Nature, be nicer to us next time!
