We’ll be honest, Mustang Week is comprised mostly of late-model, fuel-injected cars that are not only hot rods, but perfectly competent daily drivers. But Mustang Monthly readers are primarily interested in the carbureted Ponys that started the 52-year run that the Mustang has enjoyed, so we put together this gallery of all the ’65-’78 Mustangs. The early cars represented maybe only 7 percent of the cars at the show, so here’s our plan. Call it a dare. For Mustang Week 2018, let’s all make a concerted effort to ramp up the participation of all you vintage Mustang owners out there, and invade Myrtle Beach with a force of vintage muscle to put the late-models on notice. You in?
