The Power Tour just keeps a rollin’ along. That’s not just a slogan but a mantra, a way of life for veteran Power Tour participants—regardless of the issues you may have with your car, the Tour stops for no one. But the good news is that any roadside malady (which we’ve all had at one time or another) is greeted with four or five other Tourers screeching toa halt to help. Before you can even say “hey,” you’ll have three people with tools in hand ready and eager to jump in and get you on the road. That’s just Power Tour, and that sense of comraderie is what this road trip is all about. Do it a few times and you’ll meet new friends that you will consider family by the end of the Tour, even if the only time you ever see or talk to them is on the next Tour.

Day four took us from Davenport, Iowa through Illinoia running the basic direction if Interstate 74, but with the official route getting us off the highway whenever possible to experience the rural beauty of the Midwest. After all, all Interstates look pretty much the same, so what’s the point of staying on one unless you’re dead-set on cannonballing it to the next day’s stop. And that’s not what Power Tour is all about. It’s about the journey not necessarily the desitnation.
