Carroll Shelby Birthday Bash at the Petersen Museum
Mustang Monthly will be back at this weekend’s Shelby Cruise-In on the roof of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, CA, January 15th, 2017
Carroll Shelby was born on January 11, 1923 and passed away about five years ago, and to celebrate his birthday (as close as possible to the correct day anyway), Hillbank Motorsports and Superformance is partnering once again with the Petersen Automotive Museum to hold the Shelby Cruise-In this weekend, January 15th, 2017.
The show is held on the museum’s upper parking deck, with the cruise-in of cars starting at 9:00 am and the show will run until noon. Mustang Monthly will be there with our cameras in hand, and if you’re a Mustang fan within driving distance of Los Angeles’ Miracle Mile area, you should be too. There is free participant parking all special interest vehicles (not just Shelbys), free coffee and donuts, a 50/50 raffle to support the Petersen Museum, and awards handed out from 11:00-12:00 am. It’s all in honor and celebration of Carroll Shelby’s birthday. Since the show is over at noon, you have the whole afternoon to check out the amazing museum if you’ve never been, or stroll across the street and see the La Brea Tar Pits and the LA County Museum of Art.
